Dr Anjan Bhattarai is an interdisciplinary researcher with background in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. He holds PhD from Monash University, Australia, MEng from La Trobe University, Australia, and BEng from Purbanchal University, Nepal.

His PhD was focused on investigating neurodegeneration in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) using multimodal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and biophysical modeling techniques. He was awarded the Australian Rotary Health PhD scholarship for his research in ALS.

At the FAN lab, Dr Bhattarai’s research focuses on the development of advanced MRI and Positron Imaging Tomography (PET) based techniques for understanding human brain in health and disease.
